Noah is five years old and just like any other typical child, he loves trains! His favorite toy trains are Thomas and Chugginton. Noah is very loved by his big family. His diagnosis of Autism helped his parents understand why he acted the way he did.
Noah struggles with social settings and transitions. His mom, Karen, states “It is very difficult to go out in public, whether to shop or just run out and eat.”
Noah has been receiving Easter Seals services from the time he was born. Easter Seals has helped Noah with transitions by developing picture charts and social stories about transitions. Not only has Easter Seals helped Noah learn how to use picture stories, but has also taught Noah’s family how to use them. Using these strategies at home is a great tool for Noah’s parents. He has made many milestones and is currently only receiving Speech Therapy.
Transitioning from leaving home to getting on the bus to go to school was a big struggle for Noah. Noah is now able to get through that transition and get on the bus! Breaking through these challenges is what makes Noah a Champion of his own abilities.

Noah has not yet learned to wink. He often tries to wink at one of us. He will squint both eyes closed tight and turn his head to the side really quick, he thinks that is a wink!
